ENCINITAS, CA March 23, 2012 – AV Programming Associates (AVPA) has earned Crestron’s Commercial Lighting Control Systems Certification (CLC-C) and now offers lighting system programming for commercial projects in San Diego, Orange, and Los Angeles Counties, as well as across the United States. Lighting certification further extends AVPA’s ability to service customers and integration partners in the commercial sector.

Earning Crestron Commercial Control Systems Certification is a multi-step process that requires several prerequisites and final certification training that is offered to Crestron partners by invitation only. To maintain certification, companies must complete continuing education each year and remain in positive standing with Crestron as either a Crestron Independent Programmer (CAIP) or AV Dealer.

“Over the past three years we have recognized the need to expand our programming capability beyond our headquarters-based and regional office-based programmers,” says Crestron VP of Sales for Lighting Controls, Mike Malone. “We are growing at a tremendous pace that required us to start thinking out of the box. So we did, and the new programmers were in our own backyard.”

CLC Certification is especially important because Crestron requires that all commercial light projects are programmed by an authorized Crestron representative. Without a certified programmer, Crestron does not qualify projects for their extended eight year limited warranty.

Obtaining lighting certification further strengthens AVPA’s long-standing tradition of education and qualification. For over ten years, the company has ensured that formal training and appropriate certification have always come before service offerings. Commercial lighting certification also serves to further solidify AVPA’s dedication to, and alliance with Crestron Electronics.

“Becoming CLC Certified is a natural expansion for our business,” said Matt Grisafe, President of AVPA. “Since 2001 our primary focus has been to deliver unequaled control systems programming and design support for Crestron systems of all types. As a solutions provider, commercial lighting programming simply broadens what we offer to our partners. It also eliminates the need for commercial dealers to bring in multiple companies for programming. Now we can handle the lighting programming as well as traditional audiovisual programming.”

Although we’ve added new services here an there, we’ve always kept our focus on Crestron systems. As one of the nations most recognized Crestron programming groups, we’re excited to announce our tenth anniversary. Our reputation speaks for itself, but we’re proud to reach the 10 year milestone. We’re grateful to our loyal customers and the diverse projects we’ve collaborated on with them.
