SEAMLESS BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Working with Fluid Sound and utilizing Crestron’s native BACnet/IP Interface in the 3-Series Control System, AVPA delivered seamless integration with the Siemens building management system at the Hyatt location. The Long Beach facility opted for a major technology upgrade with the total remodel of their meeting rooms and common areas; and Crestron integration played a big part.Each of the 8 meeting rooms is divisible and has a Crestron touch panel that controls the room lighting scenes and temperature set points. Local music sources and local microphone selection is also provided on the password protected TPMC-4SM touch panels. A ninth meeting room offers the same functionality, but not divisible.

Dedicated Crestron touch panels in the office and equipment rack areas provide centralized monitoring and control of the 8 meeting rooms. From there, managers can manipulate the lighting systems and configure room combine modes and adjust and monitor the audio sources for each room. Music sources and room microphones can be monitored at the rack and office with a confidence speaker at each location.

The room combining option not only allows partitioned rooms to be combined, but also allows adjacent rooms to be combined in different configurations to accommodate for overflow and special events.

Integration with the facility’s building management system means key personnel can now control several room profiles from a single user interface. The opportunity to save energy has also been created as a result of the added “smart building” monitoring of various lighting and audio modes.
