AVPA Places High Priority on Creating Lasting Relationships with Crestron Programming Customers
AV Programming Associates was recently presented with an opportunity to work with a new customer—a reputable and respected audiovisual integration company in San Diego. They had already secured a high-profile government project and needed to partner with an experienced, certified Crestron programming company to complete the project. They also needed some help and support regarding the system design and functionality.
After many conversations over the course of a few weeks to gather information about the upcoming project, the customer shared the amount they had budgeted to cover the programming portion of the project. Unfortunately, as the system requirements and scope of the project came into focus, it became clear that our programming costs would be more than double the customer’s budget. Project Management Matters: Schedule Challenges with Custom Automation Projects
Regardless of the control system brand, custom programming projects face scheduling challenges. Simply by their nature, custom A/V and control systems require closer attention than simpler, standard systems. Whether we’re programming for Crestron, AMX or Extron we expect to keep on schedule and deliver on time. Part of our sales process is to outline the project timeline and estimated completion date. Of course the project schedule is based heavily on the information we’re provided by the dealer or integrator (our customer). The installers have to integrate and test the vast majority of the project before we can come onsite and begin loading the program, configuring the hardware and commissioning the system.
