I recently had an interesting interaction with a former client. We haven’t done work together in a while, but we reconnected shortly after he had visited our company’s website, which had recently been redesigned. He commented that, based on our website, our company appeared to be too “big time” to work with someone like him. I didn’t probe too much into why he thought that, but I’m guessing it’s because he saw that we’ve done work with some large corporations and government agencies and have won some impressive awards for Crestron and Extron programming, and he thought that his relatively small project wouldn’t be worth our time. We’ve delivered Crestron programming solutions for nearly every environment you can think of from luxury homes and yachts to Fortune 500 board rooms and U.S. military installations. Frankly, that’s a big part of what makes us different from many other certified Crestron programming companies in the U.S. Most programmers specialize in residential, or commercial, or education environments. But we’ve enjoyed working in all those environments. Continue reading “Our Unique Experience Delivering Crestron Programming for a 70-Room System in San Diego” »
AV Programming Associates was recently presented with an opportunity to work with a new customer—a reputable and respected audiovisual integration company in San Diego. They had already secured a high-profile government project and needed to partner with an experienced, certified Crestron programming company to complete the project. They also needed some help and support regarding the system design and functionality.
After many conversations over the course of a few weeks to gather information about the upcoming project, the customer shared the amount they had budgeted to cover the programming portion of the project. Unfortunately, as the system requirements and scope of the project came into focus, it became clear that our programming costs would be more than double the customer’s budget. We are happy to announce that the second edition of AVPA owner Matthew Grisafe’s book, Our Code: AVPA’s Strong Commitment to Consistency and Service, is now available! (View the Our Code Official Press Release.) The book, which was originally self-published and first released in March 2014, was picked up by boutique publishing house Maven Publishing USA earlier this year and re-released under their label. Maven is a reputable publisher that specializes in books written by business owners and entrepreneurs, and we are excited to have collaborated with Maven and appreciative for the experience they brought to this project.
About working with Maven, Matt Grisafe said, “It was a pleasure to work with the good people over at Maven Publishing. They really helped to improve the overall flow of the book from the first edition and encouraged us to add some additional information and stories that have made it better and more applicable to a wider audience. We’re looking forward to working with them over the next several months as we promote the book.” Continue reading “Second Edition of “Our Code” Released by Maven Publishing USA” »

Historically, Crestron system owners (homeowners, technology managers, end users, etc.) have accessed independent Crestron programmers (like us) indirectly through certified Crestron dealers and integration companies. In that role, we provide Crestron programming and design support as a sub-contractor to the dealer/ integrator who works with the end client.
For example, a homeowner hires a Crestron dealer to design the AV system, select products and install everything. Then the dealer brings in a Crestron programming company to make everything work together, allowing operation of all the components (a/v, lighting, HVAC, security system, shades, water features, etc.) as a single, controllable system.
