We recently attended Crestron’s masters training at their HQ in New Jersey and I wanted to share a few of my takeaways. First, the format of this training was quite different from that in years past. But we found it refreshing and encouraging. We were there amongst several hundred of our colleagues and unlike previous years, this time we had the opportunity to choose from a series of classes. Having so many Crestron Service Providers (CSPs) in one place also created the unique opportunity to network in ways that we never had before. For example, at tradeshows we see, mingle with and attend events with Crestron employees and independent programmers, but this particular event created a concentration of these folks unlike ever before. HigherEd TechDecisions quotes Matthew Grisafe in article about law school enrollment challenges
HigherEd TechDecisions recently reached out to me for an article that talks about what students are looking for from law schools. The article centers on a rising trend of student disappointment and a drop in enrollment and retention at law schools across the country. At the heart of the article is a conversation among professionals that work in and with institutions of higher learning, including technology service providers and AV programmers, like AVPA. The conversation looked in particular at how best to help law schools address and respond to concerns from students about the ROI on law school attendance. Article in industry magazine highlights importance of technology and the value of providing the best
HigherEd TechDecisions recently featured our project for Whittier Law School in Orange County, CA. In the article, Whittier’s vice dean Martin Pritikin says that the new rooms and technology tools we helped to create, including Crestron programming that exceeds expectations, represent “the latest technology to prepare students for where we expect law to go in the future.”
To move the Whittier coutroom, jury room and judge’s quarters into the technology environment that law school graduates will encounter in the real world, our San Diego County Crestron programmers delivered the best in technology and performance, including a touchscreen Crestron control panel that works with HD-V panels, wireless and wired connectivity, multiple displays, five pan cameras and a custom programmed Crestron interface that rises from the tops of tables in the jury room.
